This event co-hosted by BSGT and the Department of Health's Gene Therapy Advisory Committee (GTAC) was held at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh on Monday 7th April 2008. The event gave attendees an opportunity to discuss and debate gene and cell therapy research with scientists, patients, journalists and clinicians, and to think about the impact that the research has on society and themselves. In addition, creative workshops were run by Dr Lizzie Burns for over 300 school pupils in Edinburgh in the run-up to BSGT2008 and an art exhibition and competition was held.
