Operations and Manufacturing Coordinator
Ref : ODAN 02/08 - UCL Gene Therapy Consortium
The newly established UCL Gene Therapy Consortium is a global research and
development program funded by the Wellcome Trust, and based in the UCL Cancer
Institute. Its mission is to coordinate gene therapy activities on the UCL
campus and develop resources for manufacturing clinical grade gene transfer
vectors. UCL encompasses one of the strongest concentrations of biomedical
research in Europe, associated with world class healthcare centres such as the
Royal Free Hospital, the Moorefield Eye Hospital and the Great Ormond Street
Hospital. It is an ideal setting for the development of gene therapy and
currently, several clinical trials are active or have received regulatory

The UCL Institute of Child Health is the leading British academic research
institution for child health. The Molecular Immunology Unit has long-standing
interests in the primary immunodeficiency syndromes, haematopoietic stem cell
transplantation, and in the development of new cell and gene based therapies.
There are close links on site with extensive paediatric immunology and bone
marrow transplantation services, and a Phase 1/2 clinical gene therapy
