PARTNER CHARITIES

We are delighted that the Katharine Dormandy Trust has joined us as a Partner Charity.

Gene therapy is an area where cooperation between academia, funding bodies, patient groups, the National Health Service, and industry is vital for optimal development of the field. The British Society for Gene Therapy aims to promote mutual awareness and encourage cooperation between these groups at every level. One of the ways to achieve this is to invite charities with a special interest in gene therapy to join us as Partners. Such charities will frequently be associated with diseases where gene therapy offers the best or the only hope of cure. Our objective is to make Partnership a mutually advantageous relationship.

A member of the BSGT executive acts as the Societys contact with Partner Charities in order to ensure optimal communication and support.

Logos (with links to the Partner Charity's own website) are prominently displayed on the BSGT home page. In addition, one or two A4 pages are made available to Partner Charities on the BSGT website, which can be used to provide detailed crosslinks to inform readers of the Charity's objectives, activities, publications and other relevant information resources. This establishes a strong presence for the Partner Charity in the gene therapy community, and among members of the public, the press and other professional bodies who visit the BSGT website. We hope that this association with the BSGT will increase the public profile of our Partner Charities, and improve awareness of the diseases with which they are associated.

A full page in the programme booklet of the Annual Congress is provided for the Charity to use at its discretion for promotion.

Charity literature can be put into delegate bags at the Annual Congresses.

The BSGT is available to provide advice and assistance to the charity on any aspect of gene therapy.

A Trustee or nominee of the Charity may become a member of the BSGT.

The Charity will be invited to participate in any events organised by BSGT to increase public awareness and understanding of gene therapy

A strong and secure British Society for Gene Therapy is essential for the optimal development of gene therapy in the UK. The BSGT feels that our Partner Charities can best contribute to this by providing stable financial support, and we request £5,000pa, guaranteed for 3 years.

If you would like to discuss the possibility of joining us as a Partner Charity, please contact info@bsgt.org
